RMB now selects, drag selects (without a box ) and uses. LMB drags a selection box from the last click location of RMB. LMB drags a selection box from bottom left corner of screen. Unless otherwise noted, MMB (2) wasn't changed, so it's not listed.Ġ,1. Color me surprised I actually found a cRPG that uses RMB to move, although the controls are essentially a carbon copy of Wasteland 2.Ĭode: Select all Default: 0,1,2. WL2 is the outlier.Įdit: Turns out Age of Decadence actually uses RMB for movement. I can't recall a single game in this specific style (cRPG) that moved with RMB. Fallout 1 (never played 2/Tactics assuming they're the same).Pillars of Eternity (allows FULL customization of mouse button binds with extra button support same engine).Even the original Fallout and Planescape: Torment, the latter of which InXile is maxing a sequel to, which if they also make it control like WL2 I'll be mind boggled to no end.Ī listing of what I can recall right now: The most recent RPGs, tactical or isometric style games I've played have had the control schemes I've described (aside from the new XCOM, which was pure combat). It's still half backwards and everything I want on LMB is on RMB then! And as I mentioned, if I swap the buttons then RMB becomes select, box select and use while LMB becomes move, examine and camera rotation. Right click examines and moves the camera. Left click selects, box selects, moves and interacts. And onto that, still no ability to bind extra mouse buttons, when Unity fully supports it! (up to 7 buttons)Īs it stands, the game is unplayable by default for me and unplayable with the buttons swapped, so it looks like I'm going to have to attempt to get a refund and never play the game I've waited a year for that's been raved about all this time. It's been a year with a brand new enhanced version of the game on an upgraded engine and there's still no mouse rebinding. The controls feel like a jumbled mess, ESPECIALLY if you've grown used to the standard cRPG controls games have had for the last 2 decades. Middle mouse also rotates the camera, but instantly instead. Right click moves, examines and rotates the camera, and to rotate the camera you have to sit there for a half second holding the button before it registers. Instead, left click selects, box selects and 'uses' objects and people ( which then moves you to them!). Why wasn't the game designed with standard cRPG controls (ie infinity engine)? Left click selects, box selects, moves and interacts. I cannot play the game this way due to my 20+ years of experience with games controlling the complete opposite. Little did I know that right click was used for movement and there's absolutely no way to change it without swapping the mouse buttons in the OS, so right click turns into select instead (and affects all menus too). ![]() Immersed myself going through the initial dialogue, then went to move around the world and, oh. I spent 2 hours reading about character building and spent another hour making my party. I put off getting WL2 since its release and only decided to try it out after the DC was released, reading about the improvements (VO for everyone was pretty important for me) and watching a few gameplay videos. unless you expect your playerbase to be imbeciles and forget they rebound them. Playability comes above all else! Besides, if we rebind them, we know what we rebound them to. ![]() Who cares if the HUD tooltips won't be correct a lot of games don't update their HUD beyond the default controls yet still let players rebind them. in the game to reference your new keybindings, so we don't allow mouse remapping. ![]() It'd be very difficult for us to update all tooltips, text, graphics etc. Sear wrote:This is primarily an issue with managing the HUD.
